Krista Larson Designs was created in 1994 by Krista Larson. Originally from Southern California, she now resides, works, and manufactures in southern New Hampshire. From a young age, Krista was drawn to a more unique and individualized way of dressing. After a year of business studies at the University of Hawaii, Krista studied abroad in London and graduated from the University of Rhode Island. During her final year of college, Krista began selling hats on consignment in local Boston and Providence boutiques. After college, Krista entered the workforce at a local men's manufacturing plant for about a year before venturing out on her own. What was once only hats had then transformed into a line of women's clothing. From vests to dresses, jackets and more... her line was now a reality.
Krista Larson Designs Inc. is located in the rural southern New Hampshire, along the Exeter River. With the river, trees, and wildlife right outside her window, she is inspired daily by nature and her environment. The birds, plants, leaves, and animals all play a role in Krista's prints, names, patterns, and colors.
All of Krista's garments are handmade. The trimmings are unique and constantly evolving for each collection, and the custom prints and jacquards are a brilliant addition to each season. Krista offers up to fifty different fabrics and up to thirteen colors in nearly every style. This makes her pieces almost one-of-a-kind due to the immense selection. Krista's garments are manufactured in New England with select pieces made by a small group of artisans in India. The handmade embroideries and details come to life through skilled individuals.
Krista's clothes combine the past with the present, using vintage details, buttons, ribbons and lace. Characterised by the marks of time, fading and tarnishing give the pieces a vintage and purposefully worn look. The modern fabrics are custom woven and printed especially for Krista and her vision. Krista's line is truly unique and one of a kind.
